Increasing the Availability of Places to be Physically Active
HCHN will work to establish and/or improve and promote the use of trails in Herkimer County. HCHN will also create, rehabilitate, maintain and promote parks and recreation facilities in underserved residential areas of the County, in order to offer safe, accessible and attractive opportunities for physical activity for persons of all ages and abilities.
HCHN will implement Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Child Care program (NAP SACC) television viewing/screen-time reduction module developed by the NYS Department of Health in child care settings that have already completed NAPSACC. HCHN will also implement NAPSACC including the screen-time reduction module in additional Pre-K/Head Start or Day Care settings.
