Herkimer County HealthNet Meets with School Nurses

Herkimer, NY – Herkimer County HealthNet (HCHN), with assistance from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer County and Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES, facilitated a meeting of school nurses from various Herkimer County districts. The meeting focused on health issues facing school children.

 

Some of the issues discussed included nutritional quality of school lunches and the impact of health issues on students’ ability to learn. Another meeting will be scheduled for later in the school year. HCHN hopes to include Cafeteria Managers in any future discussions about how to improve the health environment of Herkimer County Schools.
