The Healthy Start Partnership of Herkimer County is a coalition of health and nutrition professionals who are working to promote healthy weights in childbearing women and their infants. Agencies involved include Community Maternity Services, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer County, Herkimer County HealthNet, Herkimer County Public Health, Herkimer –Madison WIC, Mid-York Child Care Coordinating Council, and the Mohawk Valley Perinatal Network.

Move 4 Life is a program that recognizes that people come in all shapes, sizes and physical abilities, but no matter where a person is, can be tailored to meet their individual goals. This fun and interactive 8-week program is designed to help increase or maintain an individual’s physical activity level in order to enjoy the benefits of regular physical activity including: lower stress levels, weight management, better sleeping patterns and increased energy.

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a parenting program based on the philosophy of providing parents with child development knowledge and parenting support. PAT has the following goals:
* Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices
* Provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues
* Prevent child abuse and neglect
* Increase children's school readiness and school success
Provides funds for low-cost mental health services to children in the primary grades.
Provides funds to construct wheelchair ramps for our most needy residents who otherwise could not afford a ramp on their own.
