Program Description: ADAC provides services such as case management, referral for accurate diagnosis, counseling, education and development of a family care plan, linkage to programs, support groups, and respite. These services will provide ongoing assistance and support for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease to maintain maximum independence and support for caregivers.

Program: Arm in Arm

Program Description: The Arm in Arm project promotes positive change in the delivery of human services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families who live in rural areas.

Area Served: Herkimer County.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Eligibility Criteria: If the disability originated before the age 22; continued or can be expected to continue indefinitely; constitutes a substantial handicap to a person's ability to function "normally" in society.

Program Description: RCIL offers a wide range of independent living and advocacy services for people with disabilities. Such as: benefits counseling, peer counseling, information and referral etc. All services are consumer directed and aim to increase individual rights, options and achievements. RCIL also serves the community-at-large as a clearinghouse for information regarding disability issues, other service providers, and serves as consultants on the Americans with Disabilities Act and barrier free architectural design.

Program Description: Assistive listening and alerting devices may be borrowed to "try out" to see what works best. A device may be borrowed for two-weeks: longer period can sometimes be arranged. In addition, organizations and businesses can borrow equipment to make themselves accessible to persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Client Fees: $10 refundable loan fee for a 2-week loan. Can be waived, if a hardship.
